The book I mentioned before the talks about people tried to form a perfect society, but things turned out for the worst. So our part was to create a perfect society where nothing could go wrong. And trust me its a lot harder then it sounds. Your asked questions such as what education will everyone get, Jobs, and Housing. But then you have to think about what would benefit everyone, no one can feel hate and envy. Me my group had trouble with having to figure out what to do with the disabled kids, because technically they wouldn't be equal to everyone's abilities. Unlike we The Giver we wouldn't kill them instead we worked around the problem and created tech, that would help out.

What exactly is a perfect society? Or can we be one? The book the Giver is currently my favorite book. Since its about something new and it goes deep into it. What I mean is the book talks what if we can form a perfect society, where everyone is equal. No envy, no hate, no war, no color, and no one breaks the rules. Even though it sounds possible it really never will be because emotions can't be controlled. The book explains how Jonas an average boy in the community finds out the truth the past. In the community no one know about the past as in war, hate, envy, color, and how to love. The talks about how Jonas gains these memories and how he doesn't want live a life like that anymore with all the things he learned. I loved the book and I really recommend to you guys to read it!
What a fishbowl basically made for is discussions. Its basically a group of people in the middle who are the only people that can talk. You can only get into the middle if you tap a person out of if they tap you. Our class did fishbowls for Animal Farm, and The Giver. For the book Animal Farm we asked question on how it would've been like if Old Major was still alive and if things could've been different what would've happened? For Animal Farm I would get out of the middle, and as soon as I did I would think of something and want to go back in. And when we had the one for The Giver we got asked what would've happened if he didn't leave? Or when we were in the middle of the book, we asked what was really release? For The Giver I was in and out of the middle every 5 minute. And I ended up with two 100s for both discussions :).
I have to say this one of the best books I've read so far. Animal Farm is based about the Russian Revolution. Animal farm talks about how there was a farmer who mistreated his animals. But one the animals wisest Old Major gives a speech before his death how dreamt about a revolution where animals would be free. Soon after his death the animals went through with his plan to take over the farm. As the story goes on I realize how even the animals *cough NAPOLEON* falls into having the need of power. Napoleon had started to imitate humans acting the same way mistreating the rest of the animals on the farm. The reason I love this book so much is because it shows how power gets people's heads. I'd say there was no difference from Mr. Jones the farmer to Napoleon the pig. The cycle just ended repeating its self for the animals there was always someone ruling over them, never free.
So somehow some way I FINISHED the TIME magazine, and board. Even though I thought I would never finished I DID! BUT IT DIDN'T END THERE! For me what made person of the year was my invention which was, a Bio-chip for your spine. So you know how you heard of Bio-arms, and Bio-legs well I based it off that. So basically the chip would injected in your spine if your disabled. It support your spine and adapt with it so you don't actually feel the chip, nor any pain. After it adapts with your spine you'll starting walking up again like you were never disabled. Even though I've had all of this information about the project known by heart I still get the fear of public speaking. I tended to speak fast when I get nervous, which made me fear presenting my ideas about the project to multiple classes. I had explain how I got this idea to be a success in the future. SOMEHOW SOMEWAY! I was able to present my idea and get people agree with my invention. SUCESS..! Even if I won't create a Bio-chip (99.99% chance I won't) in the future, I really hope that it becomes an invention. It would the millions of disabled people who dream about walking.
So my latest project for Language Arts is the Time Magenize. And this project by far is the hardest, you have take into consderstaion what is the world going to be like in 20 years? Who have you turn into in the next 20 years. So basically the objective of this project is that you have chosen person of the year because whatever you did for society. I decied to work in a pair for this project and basically we will be chosen because of our invention. Which is not going to disabled animals, but people too. It will be a chip that will be injected in your spine to help adpat with your body, to help it move. From then on there we will start helping people walk again.
Loo-wit The Fire keeper and Pandora's Box are two books I recently read. Loo-wit talks about how envy sometimes gets the best of them. And sometimes you can have everything but that will still not be enough you would envy what other person has. Pandora's Box talks about how sometimes your curiosity gets the best of you, and that hope is always hiding in the shadows. From these two stories I came up with the theme that if envy what you don't have you'll forget about what you do have and take it for granted. Both stories hit on this theme in Loo-wit they envy each other land and in Pandora's box she envy what was in the box. Too much envy sometimes can get the best of you.
Who knew it can be fun yelling for no reason? What I mean by that is my class had a debate a few days back and it was about whether it was right or wrong that a pro athlete didn't stand up for the national anthem. He didn't stand up because he want to start about violence and racism. So basically through out the debate I was yelling that he was right. And that he had to get the word out in some way. And was a small thing he did to start a big talk. I definitely think the team I was in won. But even though we mostly kept repeating ourselves. I honestly want more debates I like having to talk about key points.
So recently I have read a book called the Tell-Tale. And for anyone who likes to be on the edge of there seat, or even horror movies you'll love this book. So the Tell-Tale Heart is about this how basically has a glass eye. And the narrator thinking its evil so with that he planned to killed the man. But he took slow steps before he killed the man. Every night he watches the old man and watches him. One night he opens the door when the man was sleeping and the old man realized there was someone in the room. So after a hour of the narrator staying still in the room and the man staring at him in the dark the narrator murder the man. The police came to investigate and everything was going as planned until he actually told the truth. He keep on hearing heartbeat of the old man which was dead. So I recommend this book for anyone who wants to be at the edge of there seat.
This is my first post for language Arts and it will be about a book I recently read which is "Wonder" if you ever read the book "Wonder" you know its about a kid named August who pretty much is out the ordinary. He was born with an abnormal face, which is undefinable no matter how many surgeries he's had, it was no help. All of August's life he wanted to be, and had been home- schooled until fifth grade, now things had changed he was going to real school and people would see him more offend. From then on out he would have to try make friends. August reminds me of a new kid in a new school. The reason he reminds of a new kid is because he didn't know anyone at school so he was embarrassed to show his face. He thought someone would make fun of him and how his face wasn't normal. Just as a new kid would be scared, shy and embarrassed. A new kid and August would be different because of the way they act it would be harder for August to interact with other people. Although they might think the same and be scared of this new school experience, August would act different because of how he looks. While I read the book I started thinking will someone ever ask August ask what's wrong with his face? Or will they bully him about it? And will he ever go back to being home-schooled?
